Administrative Data Extraction

What is Administrative Data Extraction?

Administrative data extraction involves gathering and compiling information from paper and electronic sources. Administrative data include, but are not limited to, client case files as well as electronic databases such as local or statewide criminal justice or substance abuse treatment databases.

NPC’s Approach to Administrative Data Extraction

NPC conducts administrative data extraction for a wide range of projects. We can work with you to determine what type of data extraction is best for your needs. To gather data that are available in paper form, NPC employs trained data collectors who can travel to study sites to conduct data extraction. For data that are available electronically, NPC staff are trained in making data requests and in data manipulation and cleaning techniques. We also are skilled at matching and merging data in order to blend data from multiple sources.
