Evaluation of Cayuga County (NY) Drug Court Programs

Project Purpose: The goal of the project is to improve service delivery and outcomes for justice-involved individuals with substance abuse disorders and trauma histories by changing the way the drug court team members and community treatment and other service providers approach such individuals. The NPC team is working with felony and misdemeanor drug courts in the County to assess the processes and outcomes experienced by participants in these courts.

Project Design: The process study includes an on-line survey, document review, direct observations, interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders including professionals from the court, probation, and substance abuse treatment, as well as program participants. The outcome study includes data systems assessment, database design, and quantitative analyses of multiple agency data sets.
