Evaluation of Charles County (MD) Family Recovery Court Program

Project Purpose: NPC is evaluating the process and outcomes associated with implementing enhanced services funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Enhanced services include substance use treatment, pro-social activities and other interventions designed to improve family well-being. The evaluation design addresses sixteen outcomes across the domains of adult recovery, child safety and stability, and family well-being. NPC is also providing technical assistance to the County for their efforts to share information across agencies and service providers.

Project Design: The process study includes an on-line survey, document review, direct observations, interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders including professionals from the court, probation, and substance abuse treatment, as well as program participants. The outcome study includes data systems assessment, database design, and quantitative analyses of multiple agency data sets.
