San Joaquin Re-entry Court Evaluation

Status: complete

Project Purpose: NPC performed a process evaluation of two re-entry court programs in San Joaquin, California. The goal of the project was to improve service delivery and outcomes for individuals returning to the community following incarceration, who had violated their terms of probation and had substance use or mental health disorders. The results would help the courts improve the services to participants and improve the efficiency with which these courts share resources with the County’s other collaborative courts.

Project Design: The process study included an on-line survey, document review, direct observations, interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders including professionals from the court, probation, and substance abuse treatment, as well as program participants.
