Specialty Areas

At the time of its founding in 1989, NPC provided research services for a traffic safety program in California and administered an Oregon statewide student alcohol and drug use survey. In the early 1990s founder Michael Finigan collaborated with experts in the fields of crime prevention, substance abuse, child welfare, early childhood education and adolescent risk behavior.  In 1997, NPC began an ongoing trend of evaluating more than 200 drug treatment courts and other problem-solving courts in the United States and Guam. We also have conducted extensive research of child abuse prevention efforts, youth development models, and community health programs, among other areas.
