Dr. Chad Rodi is a Senior Research Associate at NPC Research. He is an applied social science researcher with expertise in social service areas including special education, education finance and policy, criminal justice, child welfare, youth suicide prevention, program administration, mental health, teen pregnancy prevention, substance use treatment and program evaluation methods. In his position at NPC, he is responsible for research and program evaluation, including evaluation design and methodology, data management and analysis, presentations and report writing, technical assistance provision, and overall project management, as well as tasks related to outreach and development.

Dr. Rodi’s previous positions include Research and Evaluation Director for Children & Family Futures, where he oversaw local, state and federally funded projects that measure performance effectiveness and evaluate outcomes for children and families affected by substance use disorders who are at risk or involved with child welfare services. He has also served as assistant director of the Special Education Expenditure Project, a national study of special education funding supported by the U.S. Department of Education; task leader for the Center for Effective Collaboration and Practice, supported by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention; and analyst for the Center for Special Education Finance, also supported by the U.S. Department of Education. In addition, he was the principal investigator for school-based efforts to improve retention and graduation among minority youth and to evaluate the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention teen pregnancy prevention efforts among high-risk youth.

Dr. Rodi earned a Ph.D. in Policy Development and Program Evaluation (2000) from Vanderbilt University in Nashville and a M.Ed. in Special Education (1995) from Peabody College in Nashville. He joined NPC Research in August 2015.
